When I was little, a tornado destroyed my family’s home. Watching our claims adjuster work with my parents made me want to become a claim adjuster to impact people’s lives.
As tragic as your story is, it’s great that a claims adjuster inspired you. To become a claims adjuster, you will need:
- A high school diploma or a GED.
- A license to operate in your state, which you can get after completing courses and passing an exam. In many states, you’re required to get teaching credentials before you can apply for the exam.
We would recommend you looking around at local trade schools and researching online programs, as these programs are super valuable, whether you live in a state that requires them or not. They can teach you a lot, make your exams easier, and look great on your resume.
Becoming a claims adjuster can be tough, but it sounds like you’d be perfect for the job. We wish you the best of luck!
